We decided to enroll our son at Montessori of Chantilly because after going through a long list of preschools in the area, I really did not find a place that... read more "felt right and safe" specially during COVID except for this one.
I communicated with Ms. Kaltun, the director and I must say, after speaking to her once, I was "sold" at putting my son at her school. She is very personable, very kind and understanding, genuine and just listened to my questions, concerns and answered them confidently which gave me peace of mind sending my son over to a school during the pandemic. We then went to the school for a tour and met Ms. Komala, our son's primary teacher. At first meeting, our son felt very comfortable with her and he never forgot her name even tho it took us about 4 months before starting in class- she sure gave him a good impression and really showed us how much she cared for the children.
I have so much good things to say about the school. I have recommended them to my friends and coworkers who also had good experience with them. Overall, this is a place that cares about our children, they do not look at them as numbers like all the others.
If you want quality education and a safe place for your children, this is it.
2/01/2022Montessori School of Chantilly has been a gem for our infant son. We stumbled upon it after searching for daycares in the middle of the pandemic and we feel we... read more have been the luckiest folks. The infant room lead teacher Ms Hamida and her assistant Ms Fauzia are the most loving and caring people that could have ever taken care of our boy. They care for him with so much love and compassion, it actually feels like we're dropping him off at his Grandmother's house. This has been godsend for us especially this being our first born. They also do a great job at sending daily pictures and videos through their activities as well as a summary of the day. Infant care is tough, but Ms Hamida and Ms Fauzia make it look easy. Thank you so much! We couldn't have asked for better caregivers.
1/04/2022What a team of talented, caring, strong, and intelligent leaders our school has. ... everyone in the staff is just wonderful to speak with! They are diligent and always so... read more welcoming. I can't thank these super women enough for taking care of my child so well- it is our 2nd year and the staff has been incredibly helpful in teaching these children the valuable lessons every day. Miss Kaltun, Miss Nora, Miss Wahida , Miss Preeti, Miss Sapna ... list goes on and they continue to make things better & better.. not only for my child but for these budding humans that will take over the world in future!
11/03/2021This is my daughter's 4th year with this School and she's currently enrolled in the kindergartner program. Here are some important take always in the last 4 years
... read more />
- This is NOT a daycare or a babysitting place. This is an actual school where kids go to learn
- they provide a catered healthy lunch with tons of variety. Snacks are included!
- academic programs are all mapped out ahead of time and organized
- Certified & voted as one of the top schools
- EDUCATION EDUCATION EDUCATION! my 4YO started doing math early. Other kids in public K barely started.
- Covid Precautions - Top Notch!
- Communication - Procare app + txt messages & phone calls
This is my daughter's last year here, and she will be going to First grade next year. I cannot stress how happy I am with her academic progress, as well as her growth.
Don't hesitate, sign up for this school You won't regret it.

PROs:
-certified Montessori school (if u care)
-adhere's to COVID rules via the Fairfax county
-good communication via text/emails (weekly, daily)
-staff cares about the children (something u can't... read more pay for)
-minority owned woman business (a good way to support small businesses)
-the curriculum is not limited by "federal or local" regulations...this means just bc ur kid is a certain age, they can go beyond what someone thinks they should know by a certain age (ex: a 6 YO in my kid's class is doing multiplication already).
While the pandemic, they've decrease class sizes and follow the county rules very closely. Teachers do a lot of cleaning and sanitizing regularly. Teachers wear face mask all day. Parents dropoff/pickup children outside the school, etc. Since we have put her back in school in May 2020, we have not been infected. This is the most risk we are willing to accept for our family aside from grocery shopping and takeout (we practice social distancing).
I continue to love this school! Why? Before my daughter is released to me someone at the door will help her put on her coat. Its a small insignificant detail that I notice. While we aren't able to go inside anymore, teacher have been emailing weekly on the activities and communication via text and/or email is weekly. They use ProCare, and occasional photos uploaded to the app for ur viewing pleasure.
WHY I am keeping my kid here for kindergarten? The covid restrictions has made the child to teacher/staff ratio even better. This means more attention for your child individually. Much less risk to shut down if the public schools goes virtual.
CONS: ur kid come out more advanced than the children that didn't go to Montessori...when she/he goes to public school, they will probably be bored.
8/26/2021This school has been incredible! Our 5 year old daughter started here in March after being home for more than a year. We were worried about here social... read more skills being impacted after so much time. Montessori School of Chantilly did an excellent job making her feel comfortable and helping her fit in. This is the first place I've dropped off one of my kids with no tears! The director knows the names of every student. Ms. Anisa (and all the other teachers) send weekly, detailed newsletters home with lots of pictures and classroom updates. The food is way above average from other centers. Night and day difference from a daycare center. And zero staff turnover during our time there. All of that and the rates were very reasonable. And most importantly, my daughter has improved so drastically in so many educational areas as well as life skills. I highly recommend this school!
8/06/2021We've been attending MSC since the past 2+ years and have only positive things to share. The teachers are wonderful, very attentive, and caters to each child's needs. We have... read more been in Miss T and Miss Golala's class, they are really amazing. Also Miss Kaltun, the Director, is very accessible, friendly and accommodative. Lots of extra-curricular activities - language classes, dance, yoga, music classes (yet to resume post-pandemic guidelines). Diversity is respected and celebrated here like nowhere else we know of. Only wish the kids had a bigger playground to run around and enjoy their outside time more.
3/10/2021My 2 year old daughter attended for 2.5 months while I was temporarily in the East Coast and MSC couldn't have been a more perfect school for her. It was... read more her very first time being in any sort of school or daycare so it was a leap of faith to send her there full time but it was the best decision I've ever made. The 2.5 months flew by and my daughter developed in every way through her experience there. Ms. T., her teacher, as well as Ms. R., the teacher's assistant, were such great, caring educators for my daughter and all of the students. Ms. Kaltun was always wonderful with communicating, accommodating and being so understanding for my unusual time frame in the East Coast. I would recommend MSC to anyone wanting a safe, loving environment for their children.

I toured more than 6 schools/daycares before I chose Montessori School of Chantily to be my toddler's school! It was his first time ever been to a daycare. He was... read more at home with me for 20 months. Imagine how hard it was for me to trust someone else taking care of my child, and how hard it was for my child to adjust to school! It was tough for my little boy the first week, but Ms. T and Ms. Narbada tried their best to make sure he's comfortable and helped him getting used to school. They've been doing an amazing job! I appreciate that a lot. I also appreciate their honest opinions. The teachers keep me updated with pictures of my boy during the day. Everytime I come in unannounced, my little boy is having a good time and he's clean. I'm so glad that I have found a trustful place to send my child to. I know it's really difficult to not see your kid for hours and not sure if you can trust others to care for your precious baby, but this place has earned my trust. I'm a stay at home mom, but I think it's so beneficial sending your children to daycares/school. My little boy now knows to wave his classmates good bye when he leaves, etc. He has learned a lot and I'm sure he loves his teachers!
The principals (Ms. Nora and Ms. Kaltun) and teachers (Ms. T and Ms. Narbada) are wonderful and helpful. Give them a chance! I'm glad I did.
2/26/2020A great for your children to learn, grow and feel loved. We have been there for 1.5 years, 2 kids, ages 4.5 and 3. Great teachers - they... read more are invested and caring. The director is wonderful - kind and available.
11/07/2018Perfect example of what a Montessori should should be like. My daughter has been here for 3 years now and my son is about to start the toddler class.... read more We're proud to be a part of this organization.
10/17/2018My 2.5 yr old has been going to Montessori Chantilly for 8 months now and we absolutely love everyone at the school. Ms Katlun is best at what she does..... read more she is very approachable and kind. She always has time to send us pictures, videos and updates regarding my daughter to us (anxious parents). Ms Nora is a blessing, she very patient with the kids and gives each child special attention in the area they need the most. When my daughter started school, she wouldn't eat at the school. Ms Nora and her team (Ms Yeng and Ms Bada) spent more time with my daughter during lunch times. There were so many days jwhen I would find my daughther sitting alone and finishing up her snack with Ms Nora helping her, when all other kids had finished. I have seen my daughter improve in her eating habits along these months with Montessori. I would recommend Montessori to anyone looking for a good school in this area.

This is absolutely the most nurturing and flexible option for young children in the area. It is also an extraordinary value for your dollar.
I have been continuously grateful... read more that we found them, and felt happy taking my kids there every day.
The Montessori School of Chantilly offers high quality Montessori education, supplemental lessons on subjects like language and science, physical education including dance and yoga, snacks and hot meals are provided, and care is from 7AM to 6PM all year with just the normal holidays (no week-long breaks).
This is one great package of learning and exposure for all kids - no a-la-carte confusing pricing or wait lists like other schools.
The teachers are Montessori trained. They each have the autonomy to set up their own classrooms, and design their own lesson plans. Having experienced national-chain curriculum in the past, I vastly prefer this teacher-driven environment.
There are also always plenty of loving and skilled caregivers, between teachers and assistants, to ensure the children's safety and comfort.
Both of our boys grew leaps and bounds in the time they were at Montessori School of Chantilly. Their teachers recognized their unique strengths, and appealed to them in ways that encouraged them to stretch.
I also loved the way our kids talked about what they did at school and showed us their new skills. My 5yo designed a living-room obstacle course to mimic the "Jump Bunch" they had at school, and my 2yo brought home lots of sweet songs.
We had to move..and our family will miss the Montessori School of Chantilly most of all.
9/30/2017This school has been so good for both of my kiddos. Both were in home daycare. We put them there as a prep before they get into public school, and... read more we are so glad we did. The kids learn everything including how to be independent. Just in 1 week, my boy knows how to write his own name, more confident, and made lots of friends. It was the same with my daughter. They also encourage kids to be independent, and it was so evident since they bring all that to home and start helping out with setting up dinner and clean after.
The class room size is also small, so plenty of attention given to the kids. Mrs Kaltun is very accommodating. Mrs Nichole and other teachers and assistants are so great with the kids. We are just so very happy with this school in general.
11/18/2016I am writing this review for those parents who are trying to figure out the best preschool option for their child. I was in your shoes not too long ago... read more when I was trying to enroll my two years old precious daughter into a preschool. When they say that a "worried mother does better investigation than the FBI" that's ME and I am sure every single parent out there is. Before considering the Chantilly location, I took it upon myself to visit and research all the other Montessori schools in the area. I live in Clifton, so the Fairfax location was actually very convenient for me. However, upon visiting the Fairfax location and some other ones, I came to the conclusion that the Montessori School of Chantilly was/is the best choice for my daughter. The principle in the Fairfax location (Lee Road) was very dismissive and business oriented which is fine only if she demonstrated the least amount of care and passion regarding children. She just wanted our business and did not care enough to even ask my child's name. Here is the sweet part, the minute I met Miss Kaltoon, who is the principle in the Chantilly location, I was naturally at ease and felt so comfortable. Not only is she so kind hearted but also very aware of every single child in the school. She is extremely dedicated to her job. In fact, children are her passion. When you meet her, you will know. It's one of those feelings that I can't perhaps explain in writing but I encourage you to at least visit this location and meet Miss Kaltoon. In fact, I encourage anyone who is reading this review to actually go to their open house even and meet all their teachers. Miss Nora, is so wonderful and such a compassionate human. She has more than 15 years of Montessori experience and one of the kindest teachers you will ever meet. She is aware of every single child's birthday in that school and goes beyond and above to help parents empower their children. My daughter whose 2 was not sleeping in her room and with the help of Miss Nora, she is now sleeping in her own room all by herself with Papa pig stuffed animal. My daughter transitioned out of her class and went to Miss Nicole's class. I was so sad but at the same time so excited because Miss Nicole is super sweet and perhaps the best teacher I have come across. On my daughter's second day in Miss Nicole's class, my husband and I noticed a huge difference in my daughter's academic performance and her vocabulary. We were literally shocked. Miss Nicole is so wonderful and passionate about what she does. She treats every single child as of her own. That's priceless!!! When I first enrolled my daughter, leaving her there every day crying in the morning, would cause me a lot of stress, but Miss Nicole would go out of her and send me pictures throughout the day to put me at ease. Not to mention, my daughter loves her to the moon and back. When we go shopping, she picks up random things and says "this is for Miss Nicole mommy." My daughter wakes up so excited every single day to go to school even on days when she is not going. If you are having second thoughts about enrolling your child in the Montessori School of Chantilly, I encourage you to simply visit their location and meet all the wonderful teachers. You will not regret it. Also, they are so flexible and considerate. There are days when I am running late because of traffic or meetings and there has never been an issue because they understand what it's like to be a working parent. I highly recommend this location versus any other location even though it's out of my way and convenience, but at the end of the day, I have a peaceful mind and can be at peace when I am at work. My child is in good care!!!
10/11/2016I enrolled my son at this school for the Summer to help him get socialized with other kids. He started here at 2.5 years old in the Pre-primary group... read more which is 16 months to 3 years old group. My son only went here for half a day and he was very happy with that as he got to go home for his nap. First the staff was very friendly and kind and Ms.Kaltun was very responsive and fast with updating me on school events and activities. My son really liked Ms. Yan and Melissa, as my son is kind of an attention-getter they still made sure to attend to his needs such as blowing his nose and trying to get him to eat some of his lunch food even if he didn't like it. The ratio of students to adults are about 1 to 5 students. The food was very diverse with protein and veg and fruit and they provided vegetarian options meals as well.
I do think the Montessori activity time could have been a little longer and it would be really awesome if they offered organic meals (I would have paid more for this) because my son only eats all natural organic diet. I also wish there was an easier process to view all the pictures. But overall my son had a great experience for the summer and he did learn to socialize and make friends and be independent without mommy.

My husband and I love this school because It's has done Wonderfull job with our son. We enrolled our son about a year ago, we are extremely impress with this... read more school. Our son started reading at age of 3.5 and he can do his numbers. The management is wonderful, and it shows they care about all children. Teachers have became extra moms to our son, and loved them back.
4/22/2016The amazing and professional staff at the Montessori School of Chantilly have helped my daughter learn in a pace that she wants, explore her talents and bolster her confidence.... read more I have moved around several daycares since my daughter was 6 months but the learning she achieved at the Montessori school has been superb. She became a much calmer child and i can definitely see her become more disciplined, self confident and yet happier. She absolutely loved her teacher and jumped out of her bed to go to school. She loved her Yoga classes! what an awesome idea!!! And the piano classes, wow...that is a bonus! The montessori school of Chantilly got all the great qualities of school that you would trust to leave your child with. I will definitely take my other children here.
kudos to all the staff for a great job!!!
A very grateful parent, Duri
11/11/2014We have really loved having our daughter at this school since she turned 4. She has learned soooooo much and has really enjoyed it! She always talks about her friends... read more and all the new things that she is learning. Also, the staff here is great! Because of this school she is starting to read and is very ready for kindergarten.
8/14/2014My son been going there for three years. Best choice we ever made. The teachers are awesome and I didn't pay people to watch my son play. They are actually... read more teaching everything from reading, math, PE, singing and French.
I would suggest anyone who is considering on which Montessori school to go stop by this place and visit for yourself.
